Non Destructive Testing - Visual Inspection

NDT TRAINING & CERTIFICATION COURSE– VISUAL TESTING – LEVEL-II:

A visual inspection is an essential and basic non-destructive inspection technique.

  • Obvious flaws (such as folds, breaks, wear, corrosion, open cracks, etc.)
  • Underlying hidden defects presenting an external surface irregularity can indicate a more serious fault within
  • Choice of the most appropriate NDT technique for more detailed examinations
  • Determination of the limitations of the other NDT techniques chosen (access, surface condition, etc.)
  • Identifying various weld discontinuities
  • Understanding the relevant welding technology related to visual inspection
  • Understanding the need for documentation in welding
  • Familiarity with codes and standards related to inspection requirements
  • Carrying out inspection of parent materials and consumables
  • Perform visual inspection of welds, report on them and assess their compliance with specified acceptance criteria
