NDT TRAINING & CERTIFICATION COURSE– TIME OF FLIGHT DIFFRACTION (TOFD) – LEVEL-II
To provide a basic knowledge of TOFD to enable a participant to carr yout tests according to an established procedure under the supervision of a level II. The course is especially designed to provide a sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill for TOFD required for a Level II (2) technician.
A certified UT Level II (2) personnel are qualified to:
- As per SNT-TC 1A 2011 Edition is the Recommended Practice for NDT Level II Personnel.
- Capable of making Proper Scan Plan and checking the Weld Coverage Area.
- Capable to scan the Part and Detect the Defects.
- Have knowledge of the scope and limitations of TOFD
- Prepare test report for i. Accept ii. Reject iii. Rework.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of the NDT/TOFD equipment
TOFD Level-II Course Outline:
- Responsible for care and maintenance of the NDT/TOFD equipment
- Scan Plan for the Weld Geometry by ES-BEAM TOOL-4 Software
- Basic TOFD Machine Setup.
- Machine Calibrations ( Velocity & Wedge Delay )
- Pre-Scan Settings of the Machine.
- Scanning & Recording the Data.
- Interpretation by using TOMOVIEW / UT STUDIO Software.
- Reporting the Results
- Code Compliant
- Do A High Speed Scanning of Welds.
- Creates a Permanent Digital Copy of Inspection Data.
- Can be used in lieu of Radiography, Eliminating Radiations Hazards.
- Ability to Immediately Furnish Location & Size of the Flaws with Pinpoint Accuracy
TOFD Level-II Practical Training:
- Machine Familiarization.
- Making of Scan Plan for the Part Being Inspected.
- Implementing of Scan Plan Parameters in the Machine
- Doing Calibration.
- Pre-Scan Settings
- Scanning and Recording the Data.
- Interpretation
- Reporting the Test Results.
