NDT TRAINING & CERTIFICATION COURSE– MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING – LEVEL-II
To provide a basic knowledge of MPT to enable a participant to carryout tests according to an established procedure under the supervision of a level II. The course is especially designed to provide a sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill for MPT required for a Level II (2) technician.
A certified MPT Level II (2) personnel are qualified to:
- As per PCN Certification Scheme provided by The British Institute of Non Destructive Testing under British and European Standards.
- Select proper test technique
- Perform testing and interpretate the results as per applicable standards
- Have knowledge of the scope and limitations of MPT
- Be familiar with production processes of the test material and knowledge of type and location of probable defects
- Prepare test report for i. Accept ii. Reject iii. Rework
- Guide and check test results of Level-I operators.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of the NDT/MPT equipment

- Leakage Flux, Magnetic Fields: Circular, Longitudinal &Hysteresis Curve
- Methods of Magnetization
- Faraday’s Law: Electromagnetism
- Types of current AC, DC.
- Circular field: Head Shot (Direct Contact), Prods and Central Conductor
- Advantages and disadvantages of circular field
- Longitudinal field: Coils and Yoke
- Advantages and disadvantages of Longitudinal Field
- Demagnetization
- Mediums and their preparation
- Dry and Wet method
- Particles: Dry and Wet
- Properties of particles&Methods of Application
MPT Level-II Practical Training:
- Dry Visible & Wet Visible With Magnetic Yoke
- Wet Fluorescent
- Training on Weld Flaw Samples
