NDT TRAINING & CERTIFICATION COURSE–PENETRANT TESTING – LEVEL-II
To provide a basic knowledge of PT to enable a participant to carryout tests according to an established procedure under the supervision of a level II.The course is especially designed to provide a sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill for PT required for a Level II (2) technician.
A certified PT Level II (2) personnel are qualified to:
- As per SNT-TC 1A 2011 Edition is the Recommended Practice for NDT Level II Personnel.
- Select proper test technique and Regarding inks.
- Must be Aware of Procedure to Conduct the Test.
- Interpret the results as per applicable standards
- Have knowledge of the scope and limitations of PT
- Prepare test report for i. Accept ii. Reject iii. Rework
- Responsible for care and maintenance of the NDT/PT equipment

- Capillary Action& Viscosity
- Reversed Capillary Action
- Visibility of Indication
- Categories of Test Processes
- Types of Dye: Type I (Fluorescent) and Type II (Visible)
- Methods of Removal of excess Penetrant including:
- Surface Preparation AND Pre-cleaning
- Applications and Removal of Penetrant
- Selection of Penetrant Materials
- Application of Penetrant
- Dwell time&Developing Time
- Drying Parameters& Drying Time Limits
- Visual Inspection
- Post Cleaning
PT Level-II Practical Training:
- To Perform Penetrant Testing on Butt weld joints with embedded Flaws.
- On Plates & Pipes.
- Analyzing of Inspection as per codes & Standards.
- Proper Visual Inspection over the part being Inspected.
- Reporting the Test Results.
